One year ago, I left my 9-to-5 job and took a leap of faith into photography. I had no roadmap—just a God-given gift, a growing passion to create, and a deep desire to help provide for my family. Since then, I’ve learned that this journey isn’t just about cameras, lighting, or editing. It’s about surrender. It’s about stewardship. It’s about trusting that God is my true resource.
Yes, photography is beautiful. It brings out the creative side of me that I’ve always known was there. But building a business? That part isn’t always easy. There are days I feel unsure, overwhelmed, or underqualified. Days when I’ve questioned my ability to keep going. But it’s in those moments—quiet ones in prayer, or right in the middle of an edit session—that I’m reminded: God sustains me.
He’s the reason I can continue doing what I love. He’s the One who gives me strength when I’m tired, peace when I’m stretched, and provision when I can’t see where the next client is coming from.
The Creative Power of God’s Word
Lately, I’ve been reading The Tongue: A Creative Force by Charles Capps—a book my mother gifted me. His teachings have helped me understand the authority I have in Christ, especially in speaking life over my business, my family, and even my finances.
One powerful takeaway? That prayer is not begging God to move—it’s standing on what He already said He would do. His promises are yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20), and His Word is our legal ground to pray with boldness and confidence.
When I pray over my business, I’m not just hoping God will bless it—I’m declaring that He has already equipped and empowered me. Like Annette Capps said, “Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but taking hold of God’s willingness.”
Finding Balance: Faith, Family, and Business
As a wife and mother, balancing photography with family life has been its own journey. Weekends fill with sessions, late nights stretch into editing, and sometimes I feel like I’m pulled in a dozen directions.
But I’ve learned that balance doesn’t start with time management—it starts with my prayer life.
When I center my day in prayer—inviting the Holy Spirit into my schedule, my mindset, and my work—I find clarity. I find grace. I remember what really matters.
It’s okay to be ambitious. It’s okay to have big goals. But it’s also okay to slow down, to say no, and to stay rooted in the Lord.
A Daily Prayer Over Your Business and Life
I want to leave you with a prayer that I speak over myself and my business. Whether you’re a photographer, creative, or small business owner, I pray this helps you take spiritual authority and walk boldly in God’s provision.

Daily Prayer for Sustaining Grace and Divine Provision
> Father God, I thank You for this day and for the creative gifts You’ve placed inside of me. Today, I surrender my business to You. You are my Source, my Provider, my Strength. I declare that this business is not built by my efforts alone, but by Your Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
> I take authority in the name of Jesus over every area of my life—my business, my finances, my mind, my marriage, my children, and my calling. I speak life, abundance, and purpose into each area.
> You said in Your Word that if I ask anything according to Your will, You hear me—and that I have the petitions I have asked (1 John 5:14–15). So today, I ask boldly for open doors, divine connections, favor with clients, creative inspiration, and overflow—not just for me, but for others I serve.
> I cast out all fear and self-doubt. I walk in courage, excellence, and joy. Thank You for sustaining me—not just financially, but emotionally, spiritually, and creatively. Your grace is sufficient, and Your mercies are new every morning.
> I commit this day and this business to You, Lord. May it glorify You in every post, every session, every edit, and every interaction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Encouragement
If you’re walking this journey too—of building something meaningful while staying rooted in faith—know that you’re not alone. Keep praying. Keep showing up. Keep trusting the Lord to sustain you every step of the way.
He’s not just part of your business. He is the business.
With love and gratitude,
